These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Healthy Relationship Lab website and the purchase and use of any digital educational resources, books, and digital content offered through it ("Products"). By accessing our website or purchasing any Product, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not access our website or purchase our Products.

1. Who We Are

The Healthy Relationship Lab is an educational platform offering research-based digital resources, books, and educational content on relational awareness, attachment science, neuroscience, and personal development.
The platform is operated by Hodaya Bengiev, responsible for awareness, communication strategy, and commercial operations.
All educational content is conceived, created, and authored by Mariano Guzzo, who developed the entire research framework and methodology behind The Healthy Relationship Lab. All content is presented under the professional pen name "Daniel Hartman", in full accordance with:

• Italian Law on Copyright (Legge sul Diritto d'Autore, L. 633/1941, Art. 9), which expressly recognizes and protects the right of any author to publish and present their work under a pseudonym or pen name
• EU Directive 2001/29/EC on the harmonization of copyright, which recognizes pseudonymous works and their authors' rights
• Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (Art. 15), which grants full legal recognition and protection to authors publishing under a pseudonym internationally

The use of the pen name "Daniel Hartman" constitutes a lawful and protected form of authorial identity under all applicable Italian, European, and international intellectual property law. It does not constitute deception, misrepresentation, or any form of unfair commercial practice under the Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005) or EU Directive 2005/29/CE on unfair commercial practices, as the true identity of both the operator and the author is fully disclosed in these Terms.

Our registered address is in Italy, and all legal matters are governed by Italian law. All purchases are processed exclusively by Paddle.com Market Ltd., who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.

2. Nature of Our Products - Educational Digital Resources Only

All digital resources, books, video content, audio content, workbooks, written materials, and any other digital content offered by The Healthy Relationship Lab are strictly educational and informational digital resources in nature. They are not courses, certifications, therapy programs, or advice services of any kind.
By purchasing and accessing any Product, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

• All content is intended solely for educational and personal development purposes
• No Product constitutes, or should be interpreted as, psychological advice, psychiatric treatment, medical advice, diagnosis, counseling, therapy, or any form of clinical or professional intervention of any kind
• The Healthy Relationship Lab and its content creators are not licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, or medical professionals
• No Product creates a therapeutic, clinical, or professional relationship of any kind between you and The Healthy Relationship Lab or any of its contributors
• The educational content draws on peer-reviewed scientific research and publicly available academic literature in the fields of neuroscience, attachment science, behavioral psychology, and nonviolent communication, and is presented solely for educational awareness and personal growth
• If you are experiencing psychological distress, mental health difficulties, or any condition requiring clinical support, you are strongly advised to seek assistance from a licensed mental health professional
• Results from engaging with our digital resources vary and depend entirely on individual effort, background, and personal circumstances. No specific outcomes are guaranteed

3. Payment Processing - Paddle as Merchant of Record

All purchases made through The Healthy Relationship Lab are processed exclusively by Paddle.com Market Ltd. ("Paddle"), which acts as the Merchant of Record and authorized reseller for all transactions. This means:

• Paddle is the legal seller of record for all transactions - you are purchasing the Product from Paddle, but the Product is licensed to you by The Healthy Relationship Lab (the Supplier) pursuant to these Terms
• Paddle handles all billing, invoices, VAT and sales tax compliance, refunds, fraud protection, and chargebacks on our behalf
• By completing a purchase, you agree to both these Terms and Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms, available at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms regarding payment and billing matters, Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms shall prevail
• Paddle's full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to all payment transactions and are available at paddle.com/legal
• As Merchant of Record, Paddle reserves the right to set or adjust the final sale price of any Product in accordance with its Master Services Agreement with the Supplier. The Healthy Relationship Lab will make reasonable efforts to keep displayed prices accurate and up to date
• Refunds are subject to both our Refund Policy (Section 6 of these Terms) and Paddle's own refund procedures as Merchant of Record. Where Paddle's refund procedures differ, Paddle's procedures shall apply to the payment transaction itself
• For all billing inquiries, payment issues, or invoice requests, contact Paddle directly at paddle.net

The Healthy Relationship Lab does not store, process, or have access to your payment card details at any time. All payment data is handled exclusively by Paddle in full compliance with PCI DSS standards.

4. Pricing, Taxes and Currency

All prices displayed on our website are indicative and inclusive of applicable VAT and taxes where required by law. Paddle automatically calculates and applies the correct tax rate based on your location at the time of purchase, in full compliance with applicable local tax laws including EU VAT rules, UK VAT, US sales tax, Australian GST, and all other applicable jurisdictions.

Prices may be displayed and charged in multiple currencies. The final price charged will be in the currency selected or automatically applied at Paddle's checkout based on your location. Currency conversion rates are determined by Paddle at the time of transaction. The Healthy Relationship Lab is not responsible for currency conversion differences.

The final price displayed at Paddle's checkout confirmation screen is the total amount you will be charged. No hidden fees apply. If any discrepancy exists between the price displayed on our website and the price shown at Paddle's checkout, the price shown at Paddle's checkout shall prevail as it reflects the final tax-inclusive, currency-adjusted amount.

 5. Digital Content Delivery and Access

All Products are delivered digitally through our learning platform, Kajabi. Upon successful payment confirmation from Paddle, you will receive access instructions via email within 24 hours.

•  You will have access to your purchased digital content for as long as the platform remains active and your account remains in good standing, unless otherwise specified at the time of purchase
•  Access is personal and non-transferable - you may not share your login credentials with any other person
•  The Healthy Relationship Lab reserves the right to modify, update, or improve any Product at any time. Where content is substantially altered or removed, reasonable notice will be provided to affected users
•  In the event of platform discontinuation, a minimum of 90 days advance notice will be given and reasonable alternative access arrangements will be made where technically feasible. 

6. Right of Withdrawal and Refund Policy

EU Consumers - Right of Withdrawal: Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, EU consumers have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of the transaction date without providing any reason, provided that:

•  You have not yet accessed more than 30% of the digital content
•  By accessing more than 30% of the content, you expressly waive your right of withdrawal in accordance with Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, which provides that the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content where performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgment
•  This waiver is consistent with Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms, which provide that by accessing digital content, the consumer consents to immediate performance and acknowledges loss of the right of withdrawal

How to Request a Refund: To exercise your right of withdrawal or request a refund:

1.  Contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of purchase, stating your full name, order number, and reason for withdrawal
2.  We will verify your request and confirm eligibility within 2 business days
3.  Approved refunds are processed by Paddle in accordance with its refund procedures, typically within 5–10 business days to your original payment method
4.  As Paddle is the Merchant of Record, all refund transactions are executed by Paddle. The Healthy Relationship Lab cannot process refunds directly and will coordinate all approved refund requests with Paddle on your behalf

Non-EU Customers: For customers outside the EU, refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis at our reasonable discretion. We are committed to fair resolution of all genuine issues. All approved refunds are executed by Paddle as Merchant of Record.

Technical Issues: If you experience a technical issue preventing access to a purchased Product, please contact us immediately at [email protected] before requesting a refund. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve the issue promptly.

7. Intellectual Property and License

Upon completing a purchase through Paddle, the Product is licensed - not sold - to you by The Healthy Relationship Lab (the Supplier). You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to access and view the digital content solely for your own private educational use. This license is contingent on full payment being received by Paddle and your continued compliance with these Terms.

You expressly agree that you will not:

•  Reproduce, copy, duplicate, screenshot, or download any content in whole or in part
•  Distribute, share, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any content
•  Publicly display, broadcast, livestream, or screen-record any content
•  Create derivative works based on any content
•  Share your account credentials or provide access to any third party
•  Use any content for training AI models, automated systems, or any commercial application
•  Use the pen name "Daniel Hartman", the name "The Healthy Relationship Lab", or any associated branding without prior written permission

All content - including but not limited to videos, audio recordings, written materials, workbooks, graphics, research frameworks, and educational methodologies remains the exclusive intellectual property of The Healthy Relationship Lab and Mariano Guzzo as the author. Unauthorized use will result in immediate termination of access without refund and may result in civil and criminal legal action under Italian law (L. 633/1941) and applicable international copyright law.

8. Acceptable Use

By accessing our website and Products, you agree that you will not:

•  Use our platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
•  Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our platform or systems
•  Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform
•  Post, upload, or transmit any content that is defamatory, offensive, or harmful
•  Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
•  Use our content, brand name, or pen name in any way that could cause confusion or imply endorsement without prior written permission
•  Engage in any conduct that could damage the reputation of The Healthy Relationship Lab, Hodaya Bengiev, Mariano Guzzo, or the pen name Daniel Hartman

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

•  The Healthy Relationship Lab's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or any Product shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific Product giving rise to the claim
•  The Healthy Relationship Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages of any kind, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, emotional distress, or loss of opportunity, even if advised of the possibility of such damages
•  The Healthy Relationship Lab is not liable for any decision you make or action you take based on the educational content of our digital resources
•  The Healthy Relationship Lab is not liable for any technical failures, interruptions, or errors in the delivery of digital content beyond our reasonable control
•  The Healthy Relationship Lab is not liable for the acts, omissions, pricing decisions, or service interruptions of any third-party service providers, including Paddle and Kajabi
•  The Healthy Relationship Lab is not liable for any currency conversion differences, payment processing errors, or tax calculation decisions made by Paddle as Merchant of Record

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

All Products are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that our platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. The educational content is based on the author's independent research and interpretation of publicly available peer-reviewed literature and does not represent the official position of any academic institution or professional body.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Healthy Relationship Lab, Hodaya Bengiev, Mariano Guzzo, and all affiliated contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

•  Your violation of these Terms
•  Your misuse of our Products or platform
•  Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party

12. Third-Party Services

Our platform relies on the following third-party service providers. We are not responsible for their terms, policies, pricing decisions, or performance:

•  com Market Ltd. - Merchant of Record, payment processing, tax compliance, and refund management (paddle.com/legal | paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms)
•  Kajabi - digital content delivery and account management platform (kajabi.com/terms)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. By purchasing a Product, you acknowledge and accept that Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms form part of the transaction agreement.

13. Privacy

Your use of our website and Products is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and available at [link to Privacy Policy page]. By using our platform, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our practices, Products, applicable law, or the terms of our third-party service providers including Paddle. When we make material changes, we will:

•  Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
•  Notify registered users by email where reasonably practicable
•  Post a notice on our website for a reasonable period

Your continued use of our website or Products after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy, specifically including:

•  Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005)
•  Italian Civil Code
•  Italian Law on Copyright (L. 633/1941)
•  EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights
•  EU Directive 2005/29/CE on unfair commercial practices

Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or any Product shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Italy, without prejudice to your mandatory rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.

EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their country of residence where required by applicable EU consumer law.

Note: disputes relating specifically to payment processing, billing, or Paddle's role as Merchant of Record are subject to Paddle's own terms and jurisdiction clauses as set out in Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms.

16. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, we strongly encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so that we can attempt to resolve the matter amicably before resorting to formal legal proceedings.

For disputes relating to payment, billing, or refunds handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record, please contact Paddle directly at paddle.net in the first instance.

EU consumers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform available at: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer, Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms (paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms), and any applicable Product-specific terms communicated at the time of purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Healthy Relationship Lab with respect to your use of our website and Products, and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
